Sosnovyj Quarter is one of the quarters of the vast residential area Novaya Borovaya that is being developed in the suburbs to the north-east of Minsk to the north of Uruchye, a large late-Soviet residential district.
The major architectural challenge was to grant the sense of identity and enhance the neighborhood links amidst the inhabitants, create the quality public space in the residential environment – all within the toolkit of the serial prefabricated housing, pre-defined masterplan, and necessity to keep square meter cost moderate.
